Photoshop Help

Hi

I have been using paint shop demo but now have a full copy of photoshop and no clue how to use it. I have googled tutorials but got so much junk I don't know where to start. Any tips???

I would start by learning how to crop, resize, sharpen and save JPGs.

Then move on to adjustment layers. Start with curves.

Then understand masks, brushes, opacity.

Then the pen to create paths and turn them into selections.

Then the other selection tools.

It's taken me ages- self taught...

also on dial-up so no video tutorials for me :(

try here: creative and, THIS PAGE I just recently discovered their magazine ,with attached DVD's  and am having fun, now I have some sort of refernce/help.

Layers scared the bejabbers out of me- now I LOVE them . Same for a lot of the tools--- thing is..

practice, practice practice........make sure you work on copies, and ALWAYS on a duplicate layer..and be happy to throw away many many attempts!

Photoshop still intimidates me- but it's improving! I am still in Kinder :)

say what?????????? Scary stuff ..........

haha - you jumped right to the end - course it's going to be scary :(

These skills are for such tasks as replacing backgrounds or changing just a part of an image.

The pen tool in particular can be very tricky to learn, but is very, very useful for creating straight/curved hard edged selections (a car, a lamp post, etc).
