Hi,

Just after some advice...

I have a 13 week old Aussie bulldog, she is mostly white.

I bought sunscreen and try to put it on her, but rubbing it in to her fur is a nightmare and she wipes it off, i then bought her a hat which was eaten in 2 seconds flat. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good products as she does get a little burnt.

I do keep her inside at the hottest time of the day.

Have just been thinking about this myself. My dog has white fur on her nose! Summer is coming!

What sunscreen has worked best for your dog and where did you get it from!

There are spray on sunscreens you can get, why not try those???

You used to be able to buy suits for dogs made out of the same material as ppls rash vests. I don't know where you'd get them from, haven't seen them in some time.

We get a tube of sunscreen for Boodzey from Mega Pet Warehouse. It works fine its just getting it on him! not his favourite thing. We just put it on his nose, muzzle, ears and belly as he likes to sunbake on his back (all the pink bits)

FILTA-BAC is a thick, semi-drying sunscreen we use on our pups nose. it doesnt come off too easily and lasts quite a while. its also anti-bacterial a lot easier to use on pets than normal sunscreen due to its thick consistency!

I don't have white dogs so I am not sure but friends with a bull terrier were told by the breeder to use a permanent marker which will last a week. I would be concerned about toxins etc. but someone else may know if this is a good or bad idea.

I used to put a coloured Zinc cream on one of my dogs. It is thick and being coloured I could see if he had rubbed it off :nahnah:

My neighbours white bull terrier wears a human Tshirt and hat, but she is an older girl and happy to wear them.

A friend put me onto it, and it's brilliant,

i use it around my dogs eye where its pink skin only need to apply it once a day

and under my girls chin, probably twice as its wornoff by her licking and drinking.

Anyway, we also use filta back on our white pooch. It's very good.
