Ebay weave stakes and just got some pvc, end caps and coloured electrical tape from bunnings. I think they worked out at $8.00 a pole, but that was before the aussie dollar started to climb. I take them down to the park but I do need to loctite the poles into the stakes as they do come out when I'm pulling them out of the ground again. Mel. ETA: If you just wanted the metal plates and then supply your own poles, I know someone who would make those plates out of aluminium in Melb, he does a bit of agility equip. All my clubs weave pole bases and all the ones owned by agility folk I know were made locally. I'd suggest you ring a couple of clubs or ask local agility folk where they got theirs. Haven't really tried other good methods (first method I tried with Zoe at the club was luring through with guides which I didn't like as it was very dependent on me being there and the guides and she was very slow, she sped up once I changed to channel). Have had a play at 2 x 2, haven't given slanted poles a go. In a way I'm leaning towards stick in the ground as there is versatility there - can put it in any configuration you want. Vickie Posted September 25, 2008 Share Posted September 25, 2008 The only problem I have with stick in the ground is that if you have a dog who touches them when they weave (as I suspect Kaos will, given his size & power), they end up slanted, so you have to keep resetting them. Trim can do them all day & they won't move. Shine does them once & & need to straighten them again as they offset. Zeus does them once & they get so slanted they are nearly horizontal You also have to measure each time...which is not a huge issue as you can mark a rope. I want poles with a metal base. The other thing is that if you train on stick in poles, there will be am adjustment period to train on competition poles (with a base and less give) for some dogs. Kavik Posted September 25, 2008 Author Share Posted September 25, 2008 Vickie, I have that problem with my current set It is on a base which slides so you can adjust the width of the channel, but if they bump it it widens and has to be reset. Kaos does bump the poles, but not like Diesel who can really barge through Because mine are PVC with two PVC base lines with the poles, Kaos does not realise other types of poles are the same obstacle yet Why didn't I realise that would be a problem when I got the set!
