I think I've read somewhere that some people break a fish oil capsual and mix it into their dog's food sometimes.

I just wanted to make sure that this is ok? Is it good for them and what does it do?

How many mls or grams should I give and how often? He is a 27kg Lab x Poodle.

Thanks guys :(

Fish Oil is great :( Pele, my 30 kg Bull Terrier gets 3 capsules per day. I give her half the human dosage as she's about half my weight. If you give fish oil you should also give vitamin E as Fish Oil depletes the vitamin E in the body. I give Pele a 500g capsule of Vitamin E when I give the fish oil.

Fish oil is a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids.

I usually squeeze the oil out from a capsule and give it a squirt onto my dog's food. Apparently dogs digest much faster than humans and some capsules may not have been absorbed fully if given whole. Some dogs may just pass the capsule out without leaving time for the contents to be absorbed.

That is correct, all capsules should be split and the contents emptied into the food so they can absorb it
