Chipper
Am just looking into bach flowers for my neurotic pug (is that a tautology? ) and am wondering about doses. How many drops would you give dogs weighing around 10kilos, and how often. So far this thread has been great. vampy, the formula's I've purchased form here http://www.floweressences.com.au/dog.htm are just used once per day,you can also give them twice a day for a few days as well. If using straight rescue remedy they can be used as required 4Paws - Have these worked well for your dogs? I was looking at a combination of calming and courage for Duke who is storm phobic. I was giving my girl the courage remedy as she was fear aggressive.Combined with training she seems a lot better with the fear part and now looks like we're just dealing with learned aggression(aggressive behaviour she has taught herself as a way of responding in certain situations) On Marlene's suggestion she's just made me a combination Communication, Focus, Calm & Habit so will see how we go If you contact her and tell her your dogs aliments she'll make a suggestion for a suitable fomula(tell her Julie mentioned her website)) I've also being giving an anxiety wrap a go as well which is apparently very good for thunderstorm problems

Alison
These might suit you better GSD Mum. Give Beverly a call if you have any questions, they are VERY helpful. naturapetics I have used a few of them and I got the Rescuepetics yesterday. It has extra flower essenses that the normal Rescue Remedy does not have. The Thunderpetics one sounds like what you are after. Rockafella
there is an Australian online vet who specialises in this sort of thing. My rottie had an OCD and was prescribed Herbal Flower Essence Drops to calm him down and they worked soooo well. I've still got vials of the drops in my cupboards. The website is called www.greenpet.com.au and they are based in Qld I think from memory.

I wish I could find a natural steroid to make her pork up a bit. Vibrational medicine, which bach and bush flowers essences are, dont actually work by weight of the patient HOWEVER I would be more concerned about the alcohol base in them. The flower essences are gems in my household. I have got a friend with a dog so fearful of thunderstorm for years. She could not believe her eyes when a drop of flower essence on her dog's earflap calmed a shaking/whining dog within 3 minutes.

My pug is under 10 kilos and some pug owners have told me he is too thin! The vets are happy with his weight. I have a couple of frenchies over 10 kilos so I used this as the average weight. But the websites listed above provide all the info I need so thanks heaps for that ;)
