Need To Hold Onto Coat Until Sunday

My golden boy is going through his first coat change and we are off to the Royal on Saturday. I plan to hydro bath him and dry his coat with a cool dryer Friday night. As this is my first dog to go through a change of coat i need to know what to avoid and best way to keep as much coat as possible.

My view i would sooner the dog be shown nude than with a coat that looks like it needs to come out & all itty bitty

If its coming out the quicker you get it out the better it will look.

Good luck! I'd rather show a dog out of coat than leave a trail of hair behind me in the ring.

Make the decision now to go with or without coat. Bath and blow dry now to try and get the bulk of it out and follow it up with another bath and dry

It's better to look naked, then look ratty and have coat coming out in handfuls.

ETA: you can also use a force dryer on a dry coat, put your face mask and goggles on and blow dry him like he was wet, it gets heaps of coat out, without bathing
