juice
my lovely neighbour jen, has a 10 month old cav, who is constantly at the vets, she nearly lost her a few months ago to pnumonia (sp) the vet thinks the throat, palate etc is ok, checked when desexed, but thinks its the hairs inside ( not sure where), not sending the mucas to the right place. she breathes heavily, and goes a couple of weeks before getting very sick, needing antibiotics . the vet has advised her to go to a specialist for surgery( camara one), but that it may not be curable anyway. she has spoken to her breeder, who has never had any problem like this. anyone had anything like this ? puggy_puggy
Is it kind of like Cystic Fibrosis in humans? I was going to suggest that maybe the dog has a hiatus hernia which is when the stomach moves up into the thoracic cavity. This can cause phenomia and the dog to have a heavy breathing and a cough. Usually the vet will have to inject dye into the dog in order for the xrays/images to show up.
