Fevah Posted September 7, 2008 Share Posted September 7, 2008 My Min Pin, who is now seven months old, has a few adult teeth coming through but my problem is his milk teeth have yet to fall out. One fang (bottom right) looks like a double tooth because the milk and adult teeth have come through, now I can see the top fangs are also coming through. He has all of his top middle teeth, but one milk tooth is in front of the adult ones. My question is, are these teeth going to fall out by themselves or should I see a vet to remove them? Thanks. Give him lots of things to chew, bones, pigs ears, something that will really work the teeth and this should help the baby teeth fall out. Lestat had two double canines until he was about a year old, didnt bother him and they where still nice and white. We where planning on having them pulled when he got desexed but they fell out a few days before. Mistral still has one baby tooth we are keeping an eye on. Give it a little time, keep an eye on them, if they start changing colour get them pulled as it can cause an infection in the mouth, otherwise try the chewing method seems to work pretty well. My dogs get bones quite often, a few days ago they were chewing on beef bones and today they got chicken wings. I don't think chewing is helping much, all 3 milk fangs are still white and are not loose in the least, neither is the top middle tooth. LittleRock Posted September 9, 2008 Share Posted September 9, 2008 My boys canine milk teeth weren't budging with an endless supply of bones, chew toys etc. My local vet removed all 4 of them and my boy is alot more comfortable. They were causing him some grief so all in all, l'm glad (and l think he was also) that l had them removed. Now his adult teeth can grow and settle in the right spot. GSDhandler Posted September 10, 2008 Share Posted September 10, 2008 my pup os 5 months and already has lost nearly all her milk teeth. on the other hand, my mums dog had the double fangs and it never bothered her. the teeth were healthy and it didnt bother her. they jus recently fell out themselves, years later. Fevah Posted September 13, 2008 Author Share Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) Quick update Noticed over the last few days that Jacques has been losing more milk teeth, so maybe he's just a late bloomer. Today I noticed the milk tooth that was in the top front row has gone (thankyou bones, pigs ears and carrots!). Its just the three fangs now. All are shiny white and don't seem to be causing him any problems. I gather since he's only really starting to lose teeth now that they might still budge. Otherwise I'll ask the vet to remove them when he goes in for desexing (unless vet believes they cause no issues).
