Formating Flash Drives

Hi,

I was just wondering if you format the flash drive as mentioned in a previous post rather than deleting the photos, will the flash drive numbering still continue sequentially or does it go back to zero. For example last shots downloaded was PICT4572 when you delete photos it starts up again with PICT 4573 etc. Will formatting card zero this numbering system as it comes in handy for filing purposes. Thanks in advance for any answers

It probably depends on the camera.

On my Canon - the numbering is controlled via a menu setting.
