Ptolomy
Next Nationals May 2010 in WA! It sounds like everybody had a good time and clear runs were the added bonus - well done. How good would it be to make the final - with sooo many dogs competing. What a buzzzzzzzzzzz
Tassie
Way to go Leopuppy and Jess on those titles - and Jess on your finals performance - great job. Are you guys sure you want to play in Masters Jumping???? It was amazing to see so many brilliant dogs and handlers - and to be able to run without too many major disasters on my part - not as many DQs as usual - and the ones I had were little ones - if you know what I mean - slight handling mistakes, rather than major 'forgot the course' efforts. Open Agility seemed to be Kirra's thing for the two weekends - got her ADO title at Hastings, and then 2 more passes at Nationals. Our best result was a 6th in Excellent Strategic Pairs at Nationals - might have been a bit better if Kirra hadn't decided to take the scenic route over a couple of jumps and the scramble to get to the seesaw where we needed to be . Although we only had 3 Qs at Nationals, we also had some good runs - including getting round Masters Jumping on the Sunday morning with only time faults (4.5 seconds over the pretty tight time - I was pleased with that.) Pippi - nice to meet you - sorry I didn't have time to see more of you - it was all a bit hectic wasn't it. Just wanted to record my appreciation of everyone who helped with the organisation - without you, we wouldn't have been able to have such fun with our dogs. J...
Awwww thanks guys Another Victorian that did very well in the finals was Tara from agility dog club who was 3rd in Novice jumping final with her little Poodle who flew around the course in style. That was just a brilliant effort, I'm pretty sure I heard the announcer mention that the Nats was that dogs first trial - just amazing!! Way to go Leopuppy and Jess on those titles - and Jess on your finals performance - great job. Are you guys sure you want to play in Masters Jumping???? Well done Tassie And the answer to the Masters question would be..... ummmm no! I'm so not ready for Masters, especially if they are anything like the scary ones at the Nats. The teams events course looked far less scary, got a good close look at it as I walked it by mistake thinking it was Open Jumping :D Never twigged that there was no exclusion zone. No wonder the judge looked at me funny
Schatzi'sMum
Hi everyone, well done to those who did well on the weekend  Unfortunately Schatzi and I cant report any success from our runs there. It was the first trial she's come away from with no quallies, but that's OK. I now know that if we travel a long way to a trial that I need to give her an extra day or two to aclimatise before we run. We had a couple of near misses, but the poor kid just hadn't recovered from the trip enough to be at her full potential. We had fun anyway and big trials like the nationals are always a good experience if nothing else :D Congrats to everyone who competed I have heard that 2009 is going to be in New Zealand Cant see us getting to that one! Pippi
Hi All Have only just recovered enough to get on DOL. Congrats to all those who did so well at the Nats especially my partner in crime, miss Darcy - what a dog... oh and not a bad handler either.. Big congrats to Tara from ADCV, great effort. I was very pleased with Pippi's results at such a big event, no finals but at least a quallie and almost a second one that was soooo close. It was a great weekend and I enjoyed it immensely, didn't even care about the storm on Sunday really. Thanks for your cheer leading 2tollers. It was great to see so many fantastic dogs and exceptional handlers from all over the country, I learnt heaps from just watching them, mostly what a lot I still have to learn. I did meet a few dolers I hadn't met before and I know that there were many more that I did not get a chance to meet. It was a bit hard to socialise while trying to walk courses, warm up the dog, check which ring you're in next, etc etc. Now to get into some serious training ready for Perth.....I'm all motivated now. Vickie
Huge Congratulations to everyone who went & survived & of course those of you who did well. I hardly got to meet anyone. I met Leopuppy, very briefly, as she was stewarding in one of my rings, had a quick chat with Schatzi's Mum, & a few chats with Tassie, but the rest was just a blur and I didn't get to see any of them run. Way too many courses to walk & run for me. Next time I think I will enter about half of what I did this time. Like everyone else I was totally blown away by the little black poodle, what an amazing dog! We managed to make 2 finals, but were beaten by the course in both of them. I have so many "if only's" still going through my head. I guess lots of people do. I hope I have learnt from them. It was a great experience. I didn't enter much and only had 4 runs across the days I went, but with 2 out of 4 thwarted by blown dogwalk contacts........ I think my 2008 flirtation with running contacts may be over and it's back to 2o2o for me ! Thought those who saw the black poodle (Maggie) in the final might be interested to know that not only was the Nationals the first ANKC trial for that dog, but she has also only ever run 2 courses before that - as ADCV grades classes on agility prowess rather than just jumping, the dog is still in sequencing class. A few weeks ago when I instructed that class and Tara said she had entered Nationals, we grabbed some jumps at the end of class and built a 'makeshift' novice course for her to run. The week after that she entered NADAC and had one jumping and one tunnellers run. Then on to the Nationals where she Q'd on 2 out of 3 runs and then had that awesome run in the final. Great little dog! (and totally psycho out of the ring, so we may have a 'poodle on crack' in the making to join the NSW 'pap on crack' - another great little dog. ) Nice to see the little ones mixing it with the big ones and 'taking it to them' in many cases. Silvawilow
I was bad and left before the finals - didn't want to get stuck driving in the rain plus my hubby was home after being away for 2 weeks. For me I loved watching the pairs on Friday, some blazing runs and some very "comedy capers" runs as well! Congrats to all those who competed! 2tollers
Congratulations again to everyone who competed. I think you're all great. The Nationals wouldn't be in NZ next year would they??? You'd think the Australian Agility Champs would be held here.
Schatzi'sMum
I dont think it's being called the nationals but the trans-tasman something or another - gee you can see I took the information in properly hey? Seems that there are no ANKC Nationals until WA in 2010.

Wow!! Amazing poodle!! She was a highlight of my Nationals watching her beat the BCs in the Finals. What an amazing feat with those little legs. Good on her. PS...I had one of those BC's she beat in the finals
