Is it exclusive or just that it hasn't grown any further. Is far as I know ADAA originally started in QLD and slowly expanded to NSW. Vickie Posted August 26, 2008 Share Posted August 26, 2008 I think the main issue is that it requires someone from another state to take it on & run it. That has happened in NSW but nowhere else. laffi Posted August 28, 2008 Share Posted August 28, 2008 This is the why: The reason is it hasn't grown further, people in Victoria haven't taken on the idea of running ADAA competitions and/or establishing an ADAA club/group. The Board, a long time ago, realised that ADAA would not succeed or grow unless there was, at the least, a nucleus of people prepared to undertake and promote the association. In addition, in Victoria there is already another (possibly two I think) Agility organisation, so in addition to the Kennel Club, we would also be competing with those organisations for interest and support. bordacollies4me Posted August 31, 2008 Share Posted August 31, 2008 yep Adaa do follow the international rules and standards, they also recently had 2 competitors compete at the WAC in Belgium with borrowed dogs, and i do know they are trying to get allowances for an Aust team with our own dogs to compete in the future... anybody in Aust can become a member of ADAA and compete in comps, you do not have to be a member of an ADAA club to be eligible... this would also allow you to attend the camps that are held in NSW and QLD each year... UK want to have international events throughout the year as the whole world will be watching London and they can draw attention to dog sports.
