disorder
I'm not sure if this is the right section, but... In the last two days Snot is refusing to shake hands? We have a bit of a ritual for when we give him a treat, sit, shake left, shake right, down, up and then beg. Now, all of a sudden he refuses to give us his paw  When I put my hand out to take it (either paw) he will quickly drop to the ground and won't let me touch or go near it, when I do try he will dodge and softly bite/nibble my hand... His paws are fine, I have inspected both throughly. When he is relaxed he will let me touch, squeeze and move both paws and joints and I get absolutely no reaction from him... He only goes funny when I want him to shake for a treat, Yet he has been doing this trick for over a year? I don't want to make a big deal over it and give him a complex and I can't think of anything that has happened for him to go like this, any ideas or tips to get him back to doing it? Staff'n'Toller
Sore back perhaps? Might need a good Chiro to check him over. Mel.
poodlefan
Is he refusing to present one or both paws?

becks
might just be a case of him wanting to skip part of the routine. Have you tried doing the routine from end to start or just swopping around the tricks?
~*Shell*~
Zero did this when he developed a fear of us touching his paws overnight (no idea why - it just happened). We just kept askng him to shake and would show him the treat as we did. When he lifted a paw we would give it to him. If he wouldn't pick up his paw, we would gently pick it up for him and as he was upset that we were touching it, we would redirect him with the treat. For us it all came down to making it a positive experience again. Shaking hands = treat and cuddles. I don't know if this is snot's problem but it worked for us.
