furryfuriends
i think its difficult to name any animal or human untill you have it in front of you, I have to agree with that. I could make a list of names I like all day long, but until I have a face to put it with, it's just that, my list.
ell&diesel
Had to add Leroy (in my mind it fits a whippet/basenji/italian greyhound) and of course, Trooper. Which is meant to be a boys name but unfortunately OH called our new girl that. I voted for Jarrah but no, she just had to be Trooper Love Kyro and Ronin, they're good strong names

Fevah
Mwahaahaa yes I agree husky princess, poor little Chubby (he was the cutest little Pug too, I thought it was very unfair!). I think I might call my next dog Sahib just for kicks. I might even dress him up in a shumag (male Arab headdress) *imagines a black and tan Min Pin wearing a bright red shumag* *snickers* He would probably have an attitude. Look at me like; "Give me my food, infidel!" ...Waaaah...I really do think of the strangest things. Today I think we'll go along with wolfy names, since the Husky reminds me of the wolf. Wolf Lupe Wolfgang Beowolf Adalwolf (noble wolf - German) Amarog (Inuit for wolf) Arnou (eagle wolf - French) Bhangi (Tibetan for wolf) Biryuk (Molokan for wolf) Cana (wolf cub - Celtic) Cuan (little hound/wolf - Irish) Eyolf (lucky wolf - Norweigian) Faolan (little wolf - Irish, Gaelic) Felan (small wolf - Celtic) Fenris (mythological Norse wolf) Freki (Odin's wolf) Gorg (wolf - Farsi) Ivaylo (Bulgarian for wolf) Kurt (wolf - Turkish) Liekos (wolf - Greek) Louvel (little wolf - French) Lupus (wolf - Latin) Marrok (Arthurian knight thought to be a werewolf) Mingan (Grey wolf - Native American) Nashoba (wolf - Choctaw Male) Onai (wolf - Tamil) Okami (wolf - Japanese) Phelan (like a wolf - Irish, Gaelic - Male) Radolf (red wolf - English) Rafe (shield-like wolf knight thought to be a werewolf) Rule (famous wolf - French, Male) Sandalio (true wolf - Spanish, Male) Tunstall (wolf of Thor - Teutonic Male) Ulric (power of the wolf - English, Old German) Vilks (wolf - Latvian) Vuk (wolf - Croatian) Vukasin (wolf - Serbian, Male) Wulfgar (wolf-like spear - English/Anglo-Saxon, Male) Zayev (wolf - Hebrew) Zeeb (wolf - Biblical)

Ruftybear
We recently lost our boy called Charlie, and we have another boy called Toby. It's true that you really can't find names until you have seen them and checked out their personality. We made a list of names for our new addition, but decided on Toby as soon as we saw him. It fits him perfectly.
Fevah
Thanks for the compliments guys Wolfsong you think up some pretty ace names too! I was thinking about calling my pup Lestat, but your Lestat is so popular already daaaaaamn you *shakes fist in your general direction* Anne Rice generally has funky names for her characters. Is that where you got the name from? Let's see if I can remember her vampires off the top of my head.... Louie Lestat Claudia Armand Quinn Santiago Pandora Marius Mael Khayman Akasha Enkil Laurent Merrick ...ahhh there's more I know it!

LoremIpsum
All these years later and I still love Micha's name. Huski, when I first saw your footer I thought that all your pets name seem to suit them very well. Particularly little Cherry. (What breed is she — I've never been able to work it out?) REGGIE. then he can be reginald, or reg. TravisArchie Alfie Sebastian James Freddie Jack Basically - English boys names Still can't work out how to quote... I'm a real Anglophile, so I love these English names for dogs too. You could add: Dudley Roger Bertrand Tristran Maurice Humphrey Gideon Oliver Wifred Albert Quentin Clyde Gerald Jasper Walter Or English surnames: Barrington Flyte Ryder Wilson Fitzgerald You could even go the old Anglo-Saxon names: Ethelred Aldwulf Wuffa Or from Shakespeare: Lear Romeo Hamlet Macbeth Rosencrantz Guildestern Troilus Or literature generally: Humbert Marlow Heathcliff Dorian Darcy Earnest Algernon I guess you'd have to pick your own favourite books or else it's fairly meaningless.
