kristin_e102 Posted August 18, 2008 Share Posted August 18, 2008 My 12 week old lab had his second vaccs on saturday and just tonight we have notice a hard lump on the back of his neck in the area where his needle went in - is this normal? The vet said he is in good condition so I dont think there is anything else wrong with him.... Does anyone know if this is normal? vrox Posted August 19, 2008 Share Posted August 19, 2008 That's pretty common. It's just a reaction to the vaccine- my pup's had it every time she's had her vac. I did notice that he was a bit agitated on Sunday night after the vacc - is this common too? The lump does seem a bit smaller today so Im not sure if I should still take him to the vet? If they are going to charge you for the consultation hell no. Even if they do the consultation for free I wouldn't bother going. I have found that pups and dogs tend to be a bit quieter for a few hours after they have recieved their vaccinations. Same happens in humans.
