iltby
Have you ever done flyball with them? Just a thought as it's brilliant for satisfying drive and it involves something small and fast
dogdude
Hi LukeGSP What item are you currently using for drive training? Does it not produce enough drive? or are you simply looking for something that puts them in "overdrive"? The reason I ask, is because they find it hard to learn in an overdriven state, and its counterproductive. To initially build drive, I used a fluffy, squeeky tug item, which sent her nutso. So much so, that I had to stop using it in training, and changed to a traditional two handled tug item (got it free with the Leerburg dvd). Now I have a good drive to work with, and also the concentration needed for learning.

I use a ball on a small string as supplied from K9 force for drive training currently and it works but, I made an observation when using a torch near my dogs and wondered if it was possible to harness the light/laser pointer as a training tool. Just a thought as it's brilliant for satisfying drive and it involves something small and fast :D iltby, I am not trying to satisfy/burn their drive but rather train them "in" drive with the aim of utilising their memory of action to really cement the training. I have considered flyball as a fun thing to do with them but emailed my local club and heard nothing back so we have not persued it.

Aah righto, sorry about that - shouldn't reply at 2:30 in the morning. Good luck with it
