poochmad
My 10 week old pup has frequent stool changes from solid poos to sloppy poos and I was wondering whether the fat on chicken necks or bones causes it? Should I be cutting the fat off the bone or is it good for him? :p He's currently fed Advance puppy growth with a tablespoon of high grade pet mince. He also gets chicken necks and brisket bones. Borderpower
Hi poochmad I have had no problems feeding my Border collies fat of chicken, brisket bones ect, Try trimming the fat off and see what happens :p
Dogsfevr
Are you feeding what the breeder has been ?? Not all dogs can tolerate fats & you may find its justa case of too much to soon. With chciken necks though my boy gets them BUT when i feed some in the east that where more fatty he got chronic runs. Go back to basics
Jean26
If its not something he is used to/has been on then it will most likely give him the runs. If introducing different foods, try to do it slowly or they will get an upset tummy. It can also depend on the dog as well, out of my 3 my GSD boy will either vomit up fatty foods or have loose stools. He also gets loose stools from eating kibble with a high corn content. I found all this out when he was a pup. If you can trim off as much of the excess fat from the bones you give him.
