Staff'n'Toller
Sorry I've done a search in breeders, then all forums but can't find what I want. Does anyone have a temperament test they use or have used to assess temperament in pups? Thanks, Mel.
LoremIpsum
Is this too basic? It's ABC Online's Wagging School puppy personality test.
Staff'n'Toller
Thanks botheration, that is the Volhard test which I found after I posted this, I think it's what I'm looking for. By coincidence it's a litter of Choc Lab pups.
LoremIpsum
By coincidence it's a litter of Choc Lab pups. Then what's the point of testing them? They are all gorgeous, sensible, even-tempered, easy-going, adoring, adorable and enormously intelligent!
Janba
I used a modified Volhard test on both my boys and they turned out to be pretty much what they tested as. By coincidence it's a litter of Choc Lab pups. Then what's the point of testing them? They are all gorgeous, sensible, even-tempered, easy-going, adoring, adorable and enormously intelligent! JulesP
Last pup I got I took my test stuff with me....and then totally forgot about it as I was too busy being clucky!! My little girl picked me anyhow, she bolted heaps in front of the other pups to get to me and dropped at my feet. Was a crack up. Lucky the breeder picked that pup for me or there might have been tears!

Lucky the breeder picked that pup for me or there might have been tears! Yes....well I have already had two pups choose ME :p but that's beside the point. Then what's the point of testing them? They are all gorgeous, sensible, even-tempered, easy-going, adoring, adorable and enormously intelligent! Good point, I'm not particularly concerned about choosing the 'right' pup as we have a choice of 6 boys, but I'm actually interested to do one since I've never done it before (and I will be slightly modifying it) and it might be of help to the breeder as well.
