Oils For Dogs

Hey, I am thinking about giving my pup fish oil and/or evening primose oil for his skin, coat and joints. Can I use human grade vitamins from the chemist or supermarkets or is there ones specifically for animals?

You are fine to give human grade to your dog Fish oil tabs & even zinc will help if you are still having problems with your puppies skin.

Yes you can use fish oils for humans, yes there are different dog oils - flaxseed, omega oil etc and there are blend oils that you can buy from health food shops like mega oil.

But the question is what purose is it for? Has your pup got a condition you are trying to treat or are you just wanting to induce hair growth etc???

I add a Healthy Paws Skin and coat capsule a day for my lot,specifically designed by as vet for dogs

Hi have a Golden retriever and has bad skin due to flea allergy i add evening primrose oil to food nightly and shampoo him in evening primrose oil shampoo from groomers products and he has never looked better.

Yep, I use human vitamins & oils for my girl. If giving fish oil be sure to addd a vitamin E capsule as fish oil depletes vitamin E

If you read the fine print of the fish oil bottle some mention about vitamin E but most don't

As usual, I will caution against overdosing on fish oil!
