schnauzer
It looks to me that the bitch has been rubbing her backside on concrete - my bitch did the same when she had a compacted bowel. (we went straight to the vet) I agree with Cordelia, I would seek out a new vet who will get to the source of the problem. I would also check her anal glands. bingo
Your best bet is to see a vet your dogs anal sacs are most likely compacted or infected which could require emptying and antibiotics or worst case scenario removal all together. These sacs were a form of protection from predators that are no longer needed. They were used to deter predators during an attack almost exactly the same as a skunks do now days. They need regular expressing some of which occurs during the passing of stool. I wouldn't attempt it myself but ask your vet to do it for you during a check up, vaccination, etc. http://www.raisingspot.com/health_care/dog_anal_gland.php http://www.expertvillage.com/video/8453_do...sics-glands.htm
InspectorRex
I am with Cordelia here too- off to another Vet and get to the real cause of the problem rather than just treating it symptomatically
