Uh Oh, This Could Become Addictive

Thank you so much Monica!

Stevie and I have been promoted to 4th class for our local dog training group. We get to play with the equipment now! Stevie's had one little go over the ramp, tunnel, table etc, she didn't like the ramp first time but had a second go with no problems.

Now I have to get good enough with my commands to justify having such a smart beautiful dog. How much time should I spend each day going over the same commands with her? She gets bored pretty easily. I want to practice so that she doesn't expect food, and so that she looks at me instead of my pocket.

I didn't really didn't enjoy the first few lessons we went to, and have been pretty slack at turning up. We had to keep sitting and waiting for slightly psycho dogs to stop bounding around (Monica knows what I mean!), and Stevie would get bored or spend all her time trying to find other people's dropped food. However now that we're going to be moving to the next level, it's going to be lots more fun!

Congratulations. It's exciting isn't it?

You need to read up on variable reinforcement, plenty of stuff on the net and I'm sure you get lots of links from people here.

Well done, she is a gorgeous dog!

You should see how my body looks like today. I ahve got bruises all down my thigs and bite marks on my arm. I look as if someone assoulted me!!!!

I usually dont take higher class than blue, but I can give you tips on how to make Stevie not look for food on the ground.

Im glad you enjoyed my class, if it wasnt for those people that come every so oten to say they actually learned somehting I dont think I would still be instructing. And its very rewarding to see when the dogs progress through classes, but better still seeing owners getting excited and addicted

Monica is the best instructor! She always makes her classes fun... Zeddy loved her too!

If I could get Monica to take Trouble's classes, we'd be there regularly too - and Trouble might actually learn something new! Trouble has lots of potential, but she gets bored VERY easily!

Congratulations to S&J and Stevie for getting promoted... you'll be having one on one lessons with Trish next!

If I could get Monica to take Trouble's classes,

just make your way over to my class, when noone is watching

but if you graduate to blue and above, than there will be no point as I teach the begginers most of the time.

But its nice to know you people enjoy my classes, and if you want me to improve the way my class runs just let me know.

Oh and I cant help myslef - my name is Monika not Monica :)

I might have to bring my foster girl Princess down for some beginner lessons with you Monika... and last time we were at training with Trouble, she had been promoted to White class... finally!!! Zeddy was in Blue and loved it when you were the trainer...

Trouble won't do anything when Ron is nearby, because she knows where he keeps his treats... grrr! She is bum-bag crazy!

We have been doing lots of socialising down at Leichhardt (Bones Cafe), and the girls are quite comfortable with having other crazy dogs around - except for Princess, who is only about 7-8 months old and just wants to play... lol!
