I was looking at competeing at one of their trials until I was told that I could be suspended or bared from competeing at CCCQ events because it is a non sanctioned trial. Aparently it is in the rules but I haven't looked all the way through them. Does any one know?

you will not be barred if you compete in an ADAA trial i have competed in both and know of a lot of people that compete in both ADAA and ANKC agility... i fully reccommend ADAA they have some great courses/judges and great people and dogs who compete

We'll be there. I'm just trying to work out whether to take both dogs both days and swap them event for event or whether to take one dog each day (easier option).

I'm really looking forward to two whole days of agility - I just hope so much of it doesn't fry CK's brain.

if you can manage it swapping dogs session for session will be much easier on the dogs, as it gives them a chance to rest mentally between sessions... it is quite a busy weekend mentally and physically for the dogs... an enormous amount of info to be soaked up... a lot of fun as well...

I know this is the best way to go. I just get upset about Xena's carry on in the crate while CK is working. If he works for an hour she will sometimes cry for an hour. It is improving - I guess I'll just have to keep working with her and hope for tolerance from those around us.......crate covers coming this weekend!

I thought my leg was being pulled so when I happened to bump into the person from training who told me I would be barred last night at the shops I passed on my thoughts . He walked away and I thought that is the end of that. 5 minutes after I got home he rang me and started barking rules 287 and 290 at me and stated that he knows that people do compete in these trials and if he found out who was he would have no problem in reporting them. Needless to say I'll be steering clear of him from now on at training.

How about this Reddii - take them along and cover the crate with something, leaving a small opening. Leave a container of food and a note on top of the crate saying something like:

"If I am quiet please feed me"

A lot of people will be quite happy to give your girl some food if she is quiet! It works quite well... who wouldn't be quiet for a yummy treat

I'm not going this year, but Laffi tempted me with the schedule, so I'm really tempted to go next year!!

There will be plenty of people willing to help you get dogs to learn to b equiet in the crates.... mine do this as well, crate covers definetly work but treating for being quiet is the best thing...

LOL GREAT IDEA and it worked a treat with my boy.

You have to meet Xena to believe her. She is soooooooooooooo focussed and wants to work soooooooooooooo much that nothing, but nothing except work will shut her up if she is in one of her 'moods'. She works really well and isn't psycho/hard to handle like some, but her sole purpose in life is to work.

She will sit under the 'possum' tree in the back yard and just stare for 3 hours if that is how long I am out in the back yard and don't give her another job. She has decided it is her job to guard the tree. At least she doesn't bark obsessively for no reason I guess.

The only things she will food guard now are pigs ears - I can give her one of those in her crate and she won't touch it. Even when we do get the volume down she will continue that soft, whingy, whining some dogs are so good at. It's painful, but she is improving and it only happens occasionally now days so fingers crossed.
