Do You Use Your Dog's Medicines?

Lots of words flow on which people meds you can use on your dog in what dosages.

I'm interested in the opposite direction.

I got some mysterious and very itchy bites. Of course the itch came on after midnight. I tried some Illium neocort . . . which I keep on hand for misc. irritations, cuts, minor irritations in my dogs. It's great stuff and did a better job at killing the itch and preventing inflammed bit marks than anything I know of in the spectrum of meds designed for people. One of my vets confesses that she likes the antibiotic used on ear infections for puncture wounds (eg dog bites).

I don't think I'll be taking worming tablets or getting parvo vaccinations . . . but it would be interesting to know if others have found dog meds useful for human ailments. If so, what med for what problem.

Yep, always have ilium or apex on hand for itchies, both human or canine !

Have taken AB's (the correct one for the illness) that are supplied for animal use, most of the vets will dose themselves with animal meds.

I've stitched up a vet years ago at the vet clinic, after a nasty cut !! same as hospital - cleanse, local anaesthetic & suture ! plus a dose of AB's !!

I have about 100 different products that we have tested before for one of my dogs allergies and I use them on myself too if I don't have a human brand available, I don't see whatthe difference is apart from the price tag.
