You could even try Paw Paw ointment.SpringGirl - that nose reminds me of a disease I cant put a name to right now - has the vet investigated? There is a disease called Nasal Aspergillosis which makes the nose look very similar to this but there would also be a discharge and quite often little blood clots, perhaps that is what you are thinking of. Those open 'wounds' are a possible source of infection from bacteria getting in (think dogs licking under tail, sniffing around the yard...)
