bestbrazilian
Hi everyone, I have 2 rescue pugs (sisters) who are 8 years old. One of the girls has a black growth at the base of one of her facial whiskers. At first I thought it was some kind of dirt, but you cannot pick it off. It is very tiny (about 3mm in diameter) and sits right against at the base of the whisker against the facial skin. Any ideas what it might be and is it something harmless? Thanks, Linda
Danielle
Could just be a growth. Lots of older dogs get skin tags or warts. Usually nothing to worry about, but Id still get it checked if I were you. Its not a tick is it? Can you see it well enough to rule it out? Either way, get the vet to have a look at your next check up. Good luck! bestbrazilian
Thanks for your reply, It does look a bit like a skin tag. It certainly does not look sinister. I think I will wait a little while and observe whether it changes or gets bigger. Regards, Linda
