I guess people don't think teaching your dog to run away from you on command is as interesting as teaching it to come to you :(

It actually took quite some time to get this distance and speed!

I was impressed seeing as I have been teaching Brock to send away over a fence all last week. He is never going to send with much enthusiasm I think. So well done on your send!

No real reason I run too - I didn't used to, but then thought if I am doing this to help with distance work in agility (as opposed to an exercise on its own for obedience etc) I am not always going to be standing in the same spot afterwards.

I have been working on it since he was a pup, but took a break from it for a while, started back on it a few months ago. 40 paces is now our standard run, now trying to increase it.

No but I will try to do some this weekend when I have a spare person to do it.

Myszka has been asking me to.

now there is more of us asking for videos.

Do it at the club, Im sure you can get someone there to film it for you PAX. And regards to those I know, btw.

I love it, Kavik!

I've taught Ziggy a different aspect to this - he will sprint flat out away from me and go "around" an object I point to, then return to me. It's lots of fun and a great way to break up the mental concentration he needs for heel work. Hopefully it will come in handy by the time we get to doing agility!

I taught something like this too, Spotted Devil.

But after using jumps for a little while I did it more on our walks around gum trees etc . So now they will scoot out on an "out" command, run round the nearest tree and come back.

But you don't get many trees in the agility course and I recently found they have forgotten the "out" with the "over" the jump part. Think I'll give the trees a break for a while.
