Daggles
Hi! I realised that Maverick had a yeast overload on Monday, his ears were smelly, he was scratching at his muzzle, under his elbows was smelly and hairless from scratching and he was licking his front pasterns. On Tuesday I washed the affected areas with Malaseb, left it on 10 mins and rinsed it off with water & ACV. Today (Saturday) I noticed that his pasterns have small sores on them from licking and between his toes was very red and sore looking. so I soaked his feet in a bucket with a little Malaseb and also shampooed a little malaseb into this pasterns and paws, he soaked for 10 minutes and the he soaked for 5 minutes in another bucket of 1/2 ACV & water. Ok my question: Do I need to do this feet soak stuff everyday? Should I just wipe them with ACV & water Daily? Has anyone experience this before? Have any tips? 4 Paws
Unfortuantely as you probably know german shepherds are prone to yeast infections. One of my girls suffered from it for quite some time.I did the malaseb baths as well but it seemed to just control it,never clear it up. It wasn't till after I changed her diet to Nutro Lamb and rice taht it actually cleared up.I have since changed to Orijen now that Nutro is no longer available in Aust. She has been on it for a few months now and still no itching and no horrible yeast odour.I also add a Healthy Paws Skin supplement every day as fish oil is supposed to help treat skin allergies and yeast infections Good Luck

He gets fish oil, evening primrose oil and other supplement. i just want to know the best way to control it outside the body....
♫♥♪ Kalonu ♪♥♫
I have heard of people using canesten cream that you get from a chemist and they also say that adding natural yoghurt to the diet helps as its full of Acidophilus, bifidus, L. Casei and L. Reuteri live active cultures which help fight yeast infection. I hope you find something to help your dog
