Weimlover
Hi there Sorry if this has been done before but the search feature isn't working for me. I am after a Flyball harness and was wondering if I could get some feedback from you all about which you prefer and why? The only two I can find are the Blackdog one and the lady that makes them on Ebay, I also thought about maybe using the Ruffwear Webmaster harness for it. Thanks in advance ;)
poodlefan
Go for one with the Y fitting in front rather than one that goes straight around the dog's front. It's best to avoid harnesses that restrict shoulder movement.
shoemonster
The blackdog ones are great, alot of our team use them I got the ones off ebay and am extremely happy with them, and they are cheaper too, they fit my 2 perfectly, and she now does embroidery so they can have their names across their chest which is cool! The lady is really nice and helpful too
Purpley
I have the ones off Ebay as well and very happy with them. I got my dogs names on the front, and they look great.
Sayreovi
Have the ones from Ebay as well, they are still in great condition and the only difference between those ones and Blackdog is the label Before you buy though, try one on your dog, as some dont like wearing them and you could just get the collar with handle instead. whatevah
I put a harness on Moses once and didn't like it and didn't want to run.
Weimlover
Thanks everyone for the replies I will try one on him and see how he goes first, he has been doing well with a collar One more question, do you have to have a specific flyball harness or collar? I have used the Ruffwear harness (off of his backpack) twice and he did seem to like that, would that harness be allowed? I have added a pic of the harness. Sayreovi
I am not sure, you wouldnt want something big and bulky though and that looks like it would be when the dog just wants to run! The less restrictive and the less it weighs the better for the dog. The harness is more or less something for the handler rather then dog, we just need something to grab hold of the dog and have a firm grip without strangling....which wouldnt be a problem if you have a calm flyball dog. Though one of my boys gets very excited at having the harness put on and it does distinguish what they are about to do. Guest Clover
We have Jenny's harnesses aswell, they are great and cheap as well which is a added bonus. My guys have had their about 3 or so years now and they are holding up well, and Elvis gives his a very good work out with jumping around and pulling like a nutter. Sparty
Can anyone link the harness with the names on them? i need to order another debating on jenny's or the blackdog
Weimlover
I'm glad to hear that Clover They look really good and I like that they have a thicker handle than the Blackdog ones, I don't really want to try and hold back nearly 38kg of dog with a thin one Sparty Jenny does the embroidery of your dogs name on the front for and extra $6, bargain
