Hi,

Thank you guys for your help with our new Koolie puppy (Ralphy) and the problem we were having with our 3 cats. They get along pretty well now - they're almost friends!

Now we have a problem with him in the backyard digging under the fence. He just loves digging, and there is another dog next door that he's friends with and is constantly trying to get to.

Can anyone help with how we can stop him from digging or set up the yard so he can't dig under the fence?

Thanks!

Steph and Ryan

Here's a photo of our happy fella.

Two suggestions:

Chicken wire attached to the bottom bar of the fence and then buried under the ground out from the fence in an L-shape.

Concrete the bottom of the fence several feet down. My fence has a concrete path all the way around it and is actually set into concrete.

Chicken wire under the grass is great .Infact our entire dog runs for the boarding kennels have chicken wire under the grass for the diggers & it works a treat.

I agree the concrte path or even paving would be the best solution that will work asap.

Mind you being a Koolie be sure when older he doesnt go over the fence some are great jumpers

hi there, i have 2 boxer pups that love to dig, and getting under the fence was an issue too, I lined my fences with some pine logs, they are 100mm wide and 2.4 metres long and cost around $11.00 each, I half dug them into the ground and since then they haven't gotten out however it hasnt stopped them digging elsewhere.
