JulesP
Can anyone recommend a dry shampoo??? Needs to be heavy duty! My puppy insists on getting filthy every week just before dog school, is driving me nuts!

oakway
If your not happy with the Dry shampoos why not just bath the dog and blow dry.
Cockerlover
Depending on color of coat baby powder works well if brushed through well
Poodle wrangler
I find once the mud is dry, it brushes out easily enough without anything added. I reckon a good brush and comb is a better investment than a dry shampoo. The human ones are certainly not much good.

piper
Can anyone recommend a dry shampoo??? Needs to be heavy duty! My puppy insists on getting filthy every week just before dog school, is driving me nuts! I have a plush puppy 1 that I have used for spot cleaning. I got it when Jazz managed to get who knows what on her at a show. It just has to be sprayed on and then rubbed dry with a towel. The few times I have used it I have been happy with it but I have only used it on small marks.
JulesP
I am asking for a dry shampoo because I really don't want to get up at 7.00am on a Sunday morning to wash my dog. And I haven't used one before so can hardly be unhappy with them. My dirt does not brush out because I am on red soil.
panda
All you need is a good dog brush and some baking soda! Baking soda is a great cleaning agent, so when it comes to keeping your dog clean, baking soda can really do the trick and go a long way. If you really want to give your dog a good dry bath, you'll need a good amount of baking soda, so don't skimp. (The baking soda is non-toxic and safe for use around your dog. It is a quick way to a fresh dog!). All you have to do is sprinkle baking soda all over your dog's fur, and you might want to rub it into the coat a bit. Then you just need to use a good dog brush to brush it all out. This could take a few times brushing your dog all over, because you really want to brush out all the baking soda. It's not that the baking soda will hurt the dog, you just don't want your dog tracking it in all over the place! Another thing to keep in mind with this technique is to do it outside, where it won't matter where the baking soda goes. You don't want to be left sweeping up baking soda from your porch or vacuuming it up from your carpet. So, there actually is a way to keep your dog fresh in between regular baths. (You definitely still need to give your dog wet baths because baking soda just freshens, it doesn't "deep clean.") The method is simple and the results satisfying—here's to a fresh and clean dog all the time! Step 1: Rub in baking soda into your pet's coat. Step 2: Brush the coat with a pet brush or comb. Step 3: Keep brushing until the baking soda looks as though it has disappeared. The baking soda will take the dirt and "refresh" your pet's coat.
