Yarrowfell
I have a question for Queenslanders. I believe in Qld to enter Novice you have to pass a novice sweepstakes, is this correct? What happens for interstate exhibitors? We are thinking of travelling up in June for our National which also has obedience. I have 2 dogs with CCD’s but no passes in novice yet. Can I enter then in novice or not as they have not passed this sweepstakes. Any help appreciated.
MrsD
I have a question for Queenslanders. I believe in Qld to enter Novice you have to pass a novice sweepstakes, is this correct? As for coming from interstate, my initial reaction was that you would follow the rules of the state you were trialling in. So Qlders who go to a trial in NSW don't have to do a sweepstakes first. However then I wondered if it matters more about where you have to apply for your title. My gut reaction is that yes, you would need to do a sweepstakes, but then if you have already entered a trial in NSW & got a leg how could they enforce that? And so what makes that situation any different? :D Confused? You will be, after this episode of "ANKC ruling bodies can't govern to save their lives" :D . Sorry Im not much help :D . I suggest you call the CCCQ & check :D . Edited to add - Don't worry I did it for you, according to the CCCQ if you come from interstate you do not have to enter or pass a sweepstakes to enter a novice trial. Thanks. I tried to call them and the lady on the phone didn't know and said "she would get back to me". Guess I will be able to enter them then. Pity there are no more trials around Durack while we will be there.
PAX
I have trialled a Novice dog in QLD and not did not have to have the previous sweepstake entry and result. I'm from NSW, we are so special we can just enter QLD trials.

MrsD
crap.. If only.......Hate sweepstakes!!!!! I know the reason for them.. but they still suck Yes, if you go over the border & gain a leg in any other state you no longer have to do the sweepstakes up here. It's been like that for a long time now - I always liked doing sweepstakes cos it meant that I could win extra dog food :D . Yarrowfell - no problem . Ptolomy
I went to Qld last year from WA for the Obedience Nationals with a dog entered in novice with no previous novice attempts.
