Clyde
Can we buy it in Oz? If not, would the equivalent be Ilium Neocort? Is Ilium anti fungal like Panalog? Cheers Edited March 9, 2008 by Clyde

Clyde
*Hooray*!! Can I just get it over the counter?
~Archie~
Nope, its not an over the counter product. Neocort has cortisone in it, so its completely different to Panalog
puggy_puggy
*Hooray*!! Can I just get it over the counter? I am pretty sure that it is a prescription drug but if you know your vet well then you should have no problems with getting it without an appointment. What are you wanting to use it for? Clyde
Interdigital furuncles. I've just used Malaseb but don't think it's enough so thought I'd get Panalog to try. 'Cyst' has only appeared today. Any ideas?
kamuzz
I am pretty sure that it is a prescription drug but if you know your vet well then you should have no problems with getting it without an appointment. And if your vet has prescribed it for you before.
stormie
Panalog has cortisone in it. Furuncles are usually caused by staph bacteria, so Pyohex shampoo and lotion would be better than malaseb... but they really are a symptom, not a diagnosis so its best to find out what is causing them and then go from there... eta: no way it could be a foreign body? grass seed? puggy_puggy
I usually use Panalog for yucky puggy nose rolls or groin itches. Have also used it on irritated suture stitches sites after eyelid surgery. Have been told it can also be used to put in the eyes if they have been injured untill you get to the vets and irritated vulvas. Not sure about using it on interdigital cysts. The times that the pugs have had one I just bathed it, soaked the foot in an chinese take away container, every day in warm water and weakened dettol and put some betadine on it afterwards. They take about a week to dissappear. You could also try Physohex (human acne face wash) or salt water. The dogs have usually helped the healing process along by licking it. Are the cyst occuring regularily?
Clyde
Thanks guys. I've been using the Pyohex Lotion but my googling came up with Panalog. Apparently it's a breed 'thing' which breeders recommend so thought it would be a good idea to grab some anyway. There's nothing in there as far as I can see, had a good look this avo but her paws are quite yeasty all of a sudden. I think I know what from - my hydrobath drain hose goes out on to my lawn and she works 'by my side' all day. My bath float assembly is currently busted so I have to turn the hose on and off of water access to the bath - she follows me up and down the soggy lawn all day splashing about in the wet grass . So could the lesions simply come from the malassezia? I'm just guessing with the prognosis, going by online piccies. Although it seems to just be in first stages hence I thought the cream and no more soggy lawn would do the trick. She's not licking at them.
