laffi
I tried both. My dogs didn't like Nutro so I couldn't keep it for long enough to see how well they do on it. Luckily I could return the bag and get the full refund They are on Orijen now and they love it ! Their poops are small and firm. They are full of beans. They haven't been on Orijen for long enough for me to comment on their coats. I like that it has excellent ingredients and no grains. Some people might say that Orijen is too high in proteins so you need to do your research to find out what is the suitable for your dogs

Gomez the Norfolk
Comparing these two is like comparing apples and oranges - Orijen is grain free and a totally different food to Nutro, which has grains... Maybe try comparing Nutro to Eagle Pack Holistic and then decide which ingredients you like best... Some dogs do very well on grain free, others do not... some people don't like feeding the grain free because it makes their dogs too energetic... Love that shiny red coat!! Diva
all this talk and lookin for dog food im sorta getting alil Whats Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance like? My dogs really like it, and they don't much like kibble as a rule. It's not a large enough part of thier diet for me to judge how much it is influencing their condition really (they largely get RMB's and BARF) but they certainly haven't suffered for being on it, which is not true of other super premiums I've tried. ShesaLikeableBiBear
We feed Nutro and have been for nearly 8 years. We have also weaned our litters onto Nutro. Our 5 month old was weaned onto Advance and there were no issues with changing her over to Nutro.

jaegertheweim
don't mean to add to the confusion but EP have come out with a Holistic Small & Mini Breed Adult formula which you could consider too http://www.eaglepack.com/Pages/HS_SMAdult.html
Gomez the Norfolk
DVPatten is an excellent food, but Gomez couldn't handle it - it gave him pasty poos, no matter how much I adjusted his portion... So it will totally depend on your red shiny guy!
