Puppy Girl
I need some help. We've had Jemma for a long time now, but she gets very excited when we all come home. But for some reason, when my mum comes home from work, we open the door, and she bolts out, which is fine because she goes straight to whoever is standing on the verandah, but then she pees without knowing it. We have to stay out there for a while in case she does, but if we just go inside and if she does it, we need to get the Urine-Off out. She doesn't do it much anymore, and she's toilet-trained, but she doesn't know she's doing it. Any ideas?
BC
Majority of puppies will do this, I've even groomed 1 little dog around 3 years old who still does this when excited. It is usually something they will grow out of
Puppy Girl
Thanks, and that's nice to know, because she's already 1 so that meansshe will grow out of it probably within the next couple of years - or the next month, because she only does it occasionally! Thankyuo! THERE IS STILL HOPE!!!!Sorry, THANKYOU!!!! :D
poodlefan
The key to avoiding puddles on the floor is to either greet her outside or ignore her initially until she calms down. Most dogs do grow out of it but keeping greetings low key does help.
StaceyB
My girl only does this with OH because he is an idiot and ignores me when I tell him to make her sit before he says hello to her! I never get wee'd on, I thinks it's because I give her something else to concentrate on and it distracts her from being so excited.
Dogsfevr
Peeing like this can be due to over excite or the humans greeting in an over bearing way & the dogs submits. When ever you leave return there shouldnt be any greeting & bolting out the door isnt acceptable
