indi_dog
Does anyone here do it? I tried cycling with Indi but she pulls me like a steam train, and well, it's kind of a scary roller coaster!!! I was think of trying her on one of those funky looking little scooter-dealies http://www.windchill.com.au/scooters&sleds.htm (with the proper harness etc) Does anyone do this with just the one dog? I'm wondering if the one Border Collie can pull one of these?? (Indi's a lean and leggy type of Border, we do a lot of dog sports)

indi_dog
That's that little bar that goes out sideways from your bike? I'm really scared Indi's going to take off after a bird while we're on it!! Is it really stable?
petmezz
it would be more stable then a bunji line attached to an x back harnes. for sledding your dog could probably do it, i have seen borders and many other breeds doing sledding, however a dog that will take off after a bird, roo, cat anything realy with you following on a scooter is a little dangerious. you would need to traine your dog not to chase and that may be difficult given the genetic heritage of your dog. Chopper too That's that little bar that goes out sideways from your bike? I'm really scared Indi's going to take off after a bird while we're on it!! Is it really stable? It's got springs in it, very stable. If there's roaming dogs Chopper might lunge [not aggressively] but I just keep my hands on the brakes. I've never fallen off. I've squealed to a halt more than once, but only cause some numb nuts don't believe in using leads
mawson
I use one of those walkydog attachments with my rotti x (40kg) and even if he pulls to the side the bike stays really stable, I was surprised by how effective it is. My only problem is that when he puts on the brakes (after about 3 minutes of running  ) it doesn't matter how hard I try to pedal, 40kg pulling backwards does not make you go very fast!!!! I reckon a border than pulls forwards would be fun!!!! Both my rotti and my boxer wear harnesses when using the walkydog. I got my walkydog for $49 from the rspca world for pets website store, cheapest I could find on the web at the time
indi_dog
I might try the walkie dog thingy - I was going to try roller blades but I can't even use them properly on my own  I'd have to wrap myself in bubble wrap.
