On Saturday i noticed that Scoobs was peeing a bit of blood, so off to the vets we went, Now Sccobs has been on antibiotics for the last 2 weeks, so the vet was a little perplexed as to what it could be as normally he would prescribe what he was on for a bladder infection etc etc, the only thing that had changed in the proceeding days was we changed the antibiotic he was on to a stronger one as is infection wasnt getting any better with the one he was on. On Saturday night i noticed that he wasnt peeing any blood anymore, and hasnt since, could it have been the change in antibitics ?? I have to get a sample and take it in tomorrow but was wondering what peoples thoughts are. Cheers

It could be bladder/kidney stones... Not uncommon for blood to be in the urine, if they are trying to pass a stone or one has lodged high up in the urethera (SP?)

My male stafford had a stones when he was six (he is nearly 11 now). He was operated on (he had the type that could not be dissolved) and he has been fine in that department ever since.

no, hes been spaded

Hi,

First of all dogs/bitches are de-sexed. In bitches it is called

spayed and in dogs it is called neutered..

It appears that the change of antibiotic has worked.

If the vet is not sure what has caused the bleeding

I have no idea what could have caused it.

I have seen dogs/bitches pee what looks like blood,

but it was just due to stress and over heating.
