Odette
In the past couple of weeks or so, it seems my 5-month old puppy has developed particularly stinky breath! It could be my imagination, but it seems to have gotten worse after i found her eating roo and possum droppings.. ive never seen her eat her own or another dogs droppings (although she will try and get into th cats litter box if [ossible, and has taking to the gross habit of licking my cats bottom if allowed......) She eats EP Holistic chicken and rice, gets a Nutripet treat every now and again, and i do give her the odd tidbit every now and again (she's just so cute!). What could have bought on the particularly bad breath? Teething maybe? The poo??
becks
Teething is certainly a time when puppies get smelly breath, and of course the extras in her diet aren't going to help either.
Spot.
Does she get chicken necks and or brisket bones? They help to clean dogs teeth and gives them good breath Also smelly breath can also be related to having a broken tooth or something stuck in the gums etc, so if it continues you might want to get her checked out by the vet just to be on the safe side. neatz
My dogs breath was rank during teething! now its back to normal as all of her puppy teeth have gone (some were surgically removed). also eating poo doesn't help
Cockerlover
TRY giving her raw carrots (WHOLE )to clean her teeth
jillybean
I'd say it's related to the teething and having some blood and floaty bits of gum in her mouth! More bones and perhaps a good brushing of her teeth should help..
Guest doggydo
My girl Holly had this when she was a pup. One of her teeth didnt come out and was rotting. The vet said it would have come out eventually on its own. Now I give bones all the time. She has not had the problem since.
