I left my lens hood (it came with my lens) back in the car on a hike and have a few flare dots in a backlit photo. I hate PS-ing and my first attempt at cloning didn't go too well. edited because the photo sharing site i loaded my photo up on darkened the photo. Sometimes a lens flare or a series of flares across the frame can really add to the "ambience" (for want of a better term) of the shot - other times a flare is just plain distracting.
