This is only a small one, but I'm pretty wrapped none the less.

CK was promoted to level 4 at obedience on Monday night. (Trialling class.)

We've only just gone back to obedience after 18 months doing other stuff and after 2.5 lessons (turned up late for the first one just wanting to make sure all was as it used to be and got told to get into the class! LOL). I just wanted to get him around 'strange' dogs while he is on lead to help build his confidence and all of a sudden we've been tagged as a potential triallist. Not bad for a dog that has done very limited obedience practice and NO formal obedience training for all that time.

The only problem is while he might be ready I'm not!! So many bad habits to undo and things to relearn. At least I have my girl who has to do 4 weeks in level 3 before she is allowed into level 4. (Long story, she is actually better than he is!)

Once we've done just a little more work on his SFE we should be trialling early next year!!

I think I'm really lucky - one great obedience prospect (one that is good, but only does it grudgingly), one constantly improving agility dog (and one who loves it, but needs a bit more time to understand) and two great flyball dogs (both under 5 seconds) and two brilliant frisbee dogs (but I might be biased!)

Now I just can't wait to get my next dog and start training when I actually know something instead of making a billion mistakes!!

This is a very special brag for our first born girl from our first litter.

Lexi gained her Working Aptitude Certification (Dobermann Temperament Test) on her first attempt on Sunday at the DCV WAE, which qualify’s her for her Register Of Merit - the highest achievement possible for a Dobemann - they must gain Champion Title, CD Title and WAC to qualify.

Lexi is now DUAL CH (T) Bisart Diamond Spirit CGC CD ET WAC ROM joining her Dam on the Register Of Merit and in the process she has set a new standard for us at Bisart to aspire to.

Her Australian Champion Title was earnt with a 25 Pt BOB under a Breed Specialist, her Companion Dog Title was earnt with 3 successive 1st Place Passes and 2 Highest In Trial Scores and then she passed her WAE on her first attempt.

Rhemy (Lexi’s Dam) gained her ROM before her 3rd birthday also and she earnt 9 titles within that year – I remember someone saying that was a feat that would never be topped.

Well, after a major setback early in the year - Lexi has raised the bar in 2008 for the rest of the Bisart Dogs who follow in her footsteps by earning 10 titles within 5 months of this year – in order they are:

What a year she has had and with her 3rd birthday coming up in the near future she will be very spoilt thats for certain.

Well - I've finally been re-instated to the brags thread. After a bit of a drought with no pass cards, Leo picked up a pass and 3rd place in Ex Agility today at Warringal. He also ran a bully round in open jumping. For a dog that really struggles with distance, I was so proud of him. His only fault was knocking a bar.

Kinta ran well, but is a one fault wonder at the moment

Congrats LP, glad to see others had some success in agility, Minty today decided that my "table" command meant run to the table and sit - on the ground

However, we did finally get our Masters Jumping title - nice to get it before the end of the year.

Darcy did well yesterday, she picked up a 3rd and pass in Masters Jumping - our first Masters pass on a very fun course

We also got a third, pass and title in Excellent Gamblers, her 4th title in just over 5 months.

It was a very warm day for a black dog, we had to make several trips to the lake for a swim.

My turn, my feral Miss Kira got her 3rd pass in Excellent Jumpers

Denny had brain farts in his first Jumpers run and Pairs run but redeemed himself in his Snooker and other Jumpers run by trying very hard.

My Narmi (who is not known for her agility prowess) only had a wrong tunnel entry in Novice Jumpers due to some nit who was handling her pointing to the wrong entry, stupid me, LOL! Considering that I haven't trained her since lord knows when (it was either early this year or late last year, and even then it was really foundation work) I am so proud of her effort.

May I brag about something that isn't as significant as trialling but I'm still pleased anyway?!

Millie, my 2ish year old rescue girl who I've had for 7 weeks who didn't even have any idea how to drop when I first got her, passed her Advanced Beginners class last night with a score of 92/100 :cool:

And Ruby, in her pre-trialling class who I've struggled to get some good focus from and to stay still during her SFE, got top score in our ring last night with a score of 95/100

I'm pretty chuffed

My daughter just rang to say she passed all her uni exams YEE HAR

So all those practice examinations she did where I had to lay on the bed and close my eyes and touch my little pinky to the tip of my nose, or lift my leg off the bed so she could feel my hip joint, or the psychological testing where I would have to role play were all worth it

Four performance titles for a bitch of my breeding in 2008, in fact, in less than 5 months and that was taking time off for a litter!

First up in July, Rally Novice title with two high in class and a fourth in class. She was half way through her pregnancy at the time, I had only worked with her two classes because she was in season and couldn't go, and she'd only been with me for six weeks as she normally lives with her 'other mother' who I give the most credit for her training!

October and three straight trials for Pre Novice, the next week, Novice (CD) the following week, Rally Advanced with a third in class to finish.

This is a German Pinscher and they don't do this stuff unless they figure somethings in it for them!

Want to add that my very vetran Manchester also picked up new titles, with his Rally Advanced in February and then Rally Excellant in July with three high in class scores. He's twelve years old, and mostly deaf, and I never thought to train him with hand signals, so it was interesting!

Our last brag for the year.......

Saturday night our club ran it's last agility comp for the year. (What a night - 550 runs and I didn't get home until 2am!!) Anway goals for the night were just one card for Xena and for CK to get his weave poles right.

Xena ran brilliantly - her first run of the night she had a clean run in intermediate jumping (not sure of the time), then in Open A jumping she went clear again (27 seconds with an SCT of 35). I almost sent her over a wrong jump, but corrected at the last minute and got a huge telling off! A lot of people were commenting about how quick she was which was really nice to hear. (No agility, only jumpers because it was a 'fun' comp and I don't think we wanted to be dragging the contacts out and away in the heat!)

CK went better than I had hoped for. In his starters event he had just 2 faults - both because I was a bit late on a rear cross and he baulked at a jump. Weavers - perfect !! In his intermediate run (over 650mm instead of the 550 he jumps in starters) we got eliminated for his weavers (I won't go back and correct them), but he went OVER all the bars for the first time - not bad for a dog that doesn't have to duck to go under them!

Both the puppies also got a games quali card so all in all it was a great night.

Congratulations to everyone who has achieved their goals this year, you all inspire me with your stories! Have a great break from training and I hope you come back even stronger in 2009.

On Sunday, at the end of year break up for Frisbee, The Australian Canine Disc Association (http://www.frisbeed ogs.asn.au/) awarded Ember and I with

Australian Canine New Freestyle Frisbee Team of the Year Award

I'm very excited to win this perpetual trophy. This is the first year, this trophy has been awarded so it's a huge privilege. Canine Disc (Frisbee) is a relatively new sport in Australia, although huge in the US, Europe and Japan.

Also my niece, Zoe who competed with Ember, won the

Australian Canine Frisbee Junior Team of the Year Award

A big year for Ember considering she was out for most of the competition year, due to having a beautiful litter of 5 girls. But the two competitions she was at, she won the Pro Freestyle event. This is even more exciting, as we only started learning freestyle this year. (Freestyle is a challenging format for dogs and their handlers where the teams attempt different tricks during routines of up to 2 minutes choreographed to music).

Fantastic to see some different brags in here :D Rally, frisbee and exam results

I have a last training session brag from last night. We set up Masters course last night with a serpentine at the end of it. Once we've run them the usual way successfully quite often we ran them backwards for something different.

Anyone who has seen Susan Garrett's "One Jump" DVD will probably remember her awesome demonstration of "change arms change directions" with her recalling her young dog Encore along about half a dozen jumps set up in serpentine.

Well, we've never tried it but I do use the Greg Derrett change of arm so thought we'd give it a try. I led out past the last jump in the serpentine, released and did the change of arm x 3 and Darcy did it perfectly!! Copped a sh*tstirring for showing off but I didn't know whether she'd do it or not :D
