Purina One do a sensitive stomach one based on salmon. But it probably wouldn't be low allergy enough for your dog. Only mentioning it because it has fish as the source of protein rather than meat.

Gosh Its been years since anyone has mentioned Ethoxyquin, surely companies are not syill using it???

I know Eukanuba did/does.......what do they put it on the label as?

Okay checked which one.

It is Hills W/D that contains it.

I now euk did but as far as aware they stopped using it after many complaints.

I am not sure if its in all the Hills range but is in the W/D

I also now with the Hills UTI diet that use over a certain in our breed has no been linked to another health issue.

By all accounts there are warnings on there website ??

Many vets i believe arent aware(ours wasnt with the breed issue we have) but after been informed he has contacted someone studying this issue in the breed who also wasnt aware of this but was thrilled to receive it as it does answer some questions for her

I know dog that lived his whole life on low doses of it.

Do u mean home prepared cooked rice and chicken? or something else?

I just followed vets advice on the cortisone. I didn't think it was something dogs could be on long term.

But it's worth running it by the vet, I spose

Maybe try DVP natural organic or Eagle pack holistic. You can get fish based foods which tend to be less allergenic.

Yes, just an old cheap boiler. When cooked just strip all the meat off the bone and put in the chicken stock and add some rice and re boil till the rice will soak up all the stock.

Yep, ge to the specialist and get testing done... there is still plenty for her to be allergic to atopically (air born allergies) and mould allergies is one example that would see her worse in the cooler months than the summer months. Also atopic dogs tend to get worse as they age, particularly if untreated. Also if she has food alleriges as well uncontrolled atopic allergies will often magnify the symptoms so you can't tell what they are reacting to... so find out what she is allergic to and you will be able to sort it out & give up the guessing...

I have made an appointment for her to have skin scrapings done, then depending on the results of that, I will be given a referral for the dermatologist. Will let you know how it goes.

Decided not fuss around with food till we get some results.
