Jett
Hey.. I have a 2 year old Shar Pei male, who has "swollen" hocks.. I took him to the vet who said it was caused by "excess" wrinkles around that area. He has been prescribed antiinflams for when it is bad. Some days its not there, and other days its quite swollen. The vet said the only other thing to do was an operation to reduce the skin around the area.. something Im not too keen on doing at this point. Has any one else had experience with the same thing?? peigirl
Hi Sharpie Is your boy running fevers when his hocks are swelling? Whereabouts are you located? Come in here and introduce yourself Shar Pei Thread, I'm sure someone can offer some advice. PG
Jett
Hey.. no, no fevers.. my first thought when I saw it was "oh no, Shar pei fever"... but the vet says nope! We are in Sth East Qld... There is no pain involved with the swelling, and only a little heat, and doesnt really affect his movement.
