kymbo
My little Papillon is nearly 5 months old, and is getting car sick still. I have taken him on really short trips ( like 200 meters and back) and am slowly lengthing them, and he is getting a little better ( he now starts drooling at 5 klm) but I am worried that he will just never travel well. I always praise and when we do go somewhere I make it somewhere fun for him so he associates the car with good things. The vet said just wait and see if he grows out of it. Todays little trip was a first though; he also pooed and threw up. He doesn't seem to be afraid of the car; in fact, he bounces in to go places. I have a pet car seat cover, and he usually travels on the back seat with the other pap who is fine. I tried a crate, but I think it stressed him out worse. I have tried windows up/ down, aircon on/off, radio on/off, front seat/back seat/ crate/ no crate ...nothing helps. Anyone have any ideas? Or is the vet right, and just wait it out? He is missing a whole heap of socialization, as I am country and there isn't any dog parks/ friends within non chucking/ pooing distance.
