spoilt lab lives here
Ok i am trialling Ramses on a rice, chicken mince and vegie diet with a cup full of sensitive skin biscuits to see if i can get his flaky skin better. I need a basic guide on how much chicken and rice mix to feed him of a night time. He weighs 27kgs. I am going to cook it up and weigh it out in freezer bags. Can anyone give me a rough amount to feed him?
malisa1
Hi Spoilt Lab Evening meal we feed about 1 cup of dry and about 350grms of organic chicken mince for evening meal. As well as some other supplements. For breakfast we feed 1 chicken frame or 3 necks and about one cup of dry food. We feed Eagle pac power our Akita's love it. So I would say a ratio of one cup dry and one and a half wet. But I am sure other Lab breeders will help on this one. Hope this helps. Kind Regards Malisa
Clyde
My 25 kilo dog gets two cups per day (or the equivalent of). But then my 47kilo dog gets only between 2-3 cups. I think it depends on the dog. But start him at around 2ish and build him up if he needs it. Easier to put weight on them than take it off. poodlefan
Does the chicken mince have bone in it? A diet of entirely soft food isn't going to do much for dental hygiene. I'd be trying to feed some meals of bones. Rice is a filler, it's useful for giving fast energy to a dog but other than that, it's nothing but bulk. Flaves
SL have you tried adding sardines to Ramses diet a couple of times a week? They have good oils in them and can help skin and coat.
