wagsalot
Can blue bottles on the beach do any harm to dogs?? I know there has been a thread in the past but I can't find it. Blue and Bottle is a common word on this forum! We took RIley to the beach today and there was a few blue bottles on the beach. We kept our eye on him the best we could but at one stage we caught him pushing one round with his nose. We quickly called him away and I put water over his face and he was fine. That was 4 hours ago and now at home he keeps doing this weird breathing thing. He'll be lying down, will get up and then he breaths funny. Its not happening all the time and he's still running round, drinking, eating etc. Sometimes his anxiety makes him do this and the heat also, but the blue bottle is stuck in the back of my head. I've looked in his mouth and nothing looks swollen that I can tell. He holds his tounge up which doesn't help, but nose, lips etc aren't swollen, red or anything like that. Im keeping a close eye on him and just making him lie down incase he is just hot, and I'll see how he goes
Poodle wrangler
My dog Charlie (avatar, standard poodle) has tried to eat a blue bottle- was OK. Obviously was uncomfortable- pawing his mouth and wondering what the hell had happenned :p I was wondering whether or not I'd have to carry him to the car and off to vet- a long way to carry 25kg- but he was fine to walk back to car and needed no special treatment. sas
Can you have a look up his nose with a torch to make sure there isn't one of those stingy strains there. Might just be a slight irritation.
