Desexing During Ceasarian

Just wondering why breeders get their bitches desexed during ceasarians? Is it because they can't go on to whelp another litter after a ceasar? Or they have had a few litters and this was their last? Or are their many reasons as to why?

I understand it's easier to do the desexing whilst under the anaesthetic for the ceasar, but just wonder why breeders do it.

Just curious after Kaffy's thread about her bullmastiff.

In the cases I have known it is due to it being their last litter & usually going to be rehomed & desexed anyway, so it saves another GA........Some say their milk can dry up because of doing this, but I have never seen it myself.

I would imagine it is to save having another major op later on. Having had my own emergency caeser, I can say without doubt that if they had to desex me Id want it done at the same time, because its not a fun thing to go through!
