Feeding Question

When my pup settles in properly I want to switch him over to a raw plus dry diet. Currently I'm switching him over to a mix of Eagle Pack and RMB. I've found the calculators to work out how much BARF to feed, but I'm not sure how you figure that in when he's getting a cup of dry for breakfast?

Eg he weighs 6 kg so at 6% of his bodyweight that works out to about 360 grams per day for BARF. But if I feed dry to I just count the grams or because it's a complete meal, do I factor it in another way? :mad

Confused now :mad

Please no arguments on me feeding dry, thanks :)

I feed a mixture of raw and dry. I always think that they overstate the amount of dry you have to feed on the packets so work on about 3/4 of the recommnended amount. So if I am feeding 50% dry I use about 35-40% of the recommended amount of dry and make the rest up in raw. I adjust according to the condition of the dog.

This is how I feed now. :mad I don't do it that scientifically though. I go more on the body weight of the dog. Too fat - less food. With the puppy I have just been weighing her to make sure she is putting on weight at a good rate. Some days she gets more food, some less. Which was how BARF was supposed to work before those patty things came out.

I tend to do the bones in the morning.
