Tahna
I am doing a bit of home research on the benefits of Barley Green in humans and the positive effects it has on people with cancer and preventing cancers etc. The results I am finding have been amazing and as a result I have started taking this myself, which got me thinking if it would benefit dogs in the same way. If you have fed/included Barley Grass in your dogs food, commercially packaged as 'Organic Barley Green', can you please let me know if you have had any of these dogs get any form of cancer? I would really appreciate any feedback on the health of any of your dogs that have been fed this, or similar product. Thanks heaps,
blacklabrador
Yep I have added it a couple of times per week to the dogs food. I've run out now but have just used it as a general supplement.
t-time
Yes, I try to sneak it into batches of mixed (BARF) that I feed. (Barley Grass Powder) I say "sneak" because I found that the dogs wouldn't touch it if I put say, a teaspoon into the mix. I had to put enough in till I could just see a bit of a green tinge in the food. BL has LABS so I guess they'll not even notice as it's rolling down the gob!! LOL! My reason was not because of cancer-prevention properties but because I heard it was good for tear/urine staining. I've since discovered that Apple Cider Vinegar works just as well. Seems my dogs don't like green food!
