jillybean
Chloe's finally old enough to get her last vaccination this week (she'll be 16 weeks)! How long do I have to wait for it to kick in so that it's safe to take her out and about? Do I have to wait a week or something like that, or can I take her out the day after? I'm dying to take her out walking to use up some of her energy! And I'd love to take her to the beach for the first time too.
Ons
two weeks after I was told others may have different opinions but that's what my vet advised. If you are unsure ring up your vet and ask. as for the beach ask your vet that as well. When I lived near the beach my vet told me that my pup was fine there as the sand blows away all diseases and the pup couldn't catch anything. of course I carried her to and from the car and made sure that she didnt' "talk" to any other dogs. Georgie-boy
Vaccines can take up to 2 weeks to take full effect so I would wait 2 weeks to be on the safe side.
poodlefan
Go easy on the on lead walking. Pups really aren't up to a lot of forced exercise before 6 months for the littlies and up to 12 months for the larger breeds. Exercising pup's brains is often more effective for tiring them out than exercising their bodies. When she is fully vaccinated, will you be taking her to training?
