catzatsea
Started reading last night and hoping to finish it by the end of the weekend so I can start on the exercises. The send away game should be fairly easy as I already practice (albeit much more casual version) with my boys so I am excited about the possible progress with the added structure and fine tuning. Your Thoughts????

catzatsea
I've only read about half but I'm finding it interesting so far. :D Have you practised any of the techniques or are you waiting to finish the book?
t(AD)pole
I've only read about half but I'm finding it interesting so far. :D Have you practised any of the techniques or are you waiting to finish the book? I have started re-teaching Abbie to go to a mat the way it says in the book. He stay on her mat at home as deteriorated drastically because of certain people not enforcing it (*cough* dad *cough* ) so I thought I may as well teach it again (with a different command and different mat). I like the way McDevitt teaches 'go to place' so the dog loves the mat, not so the dog knows it has to be there but does not want to. For the other exercises I will probably try and finish the book first and maybe read it again so I get a better idea of what I'm doing before I stuff something up. T(AD)pole - it's a good game until you tell the dog 'mat' and the dog and mat go flying across the room because of the enthusiasm they land on it :D Kallistar The book is Control Unleashed; Leslie McDevitt..... http://www.agilityclick.com/prod158.htm I received mine about a week ago and hope to start reading it soon.... life has been hectic of late
