sahara
I have just relocated to WA and am living about an hour south of Perth. My 11 month old Mastiff requires surgery as one of his front ulna growth plates has closed early - ie. one leg is now a fraction longer than the other. As I have just relocated to WA I'd love a recommendation of a vet that is good with large breed dogs in the Mandurah area, and advice or recommendations regarding the surgery. Has anyone else had a dog go through this - what should I expect (besides a new personal loan to pay for it)? Any recommendations and advice gladly received. I don't mind travelling if needed for the surgery.
Ptolomy
For everyday things I really recommend Lark Hill - a relatively new practice half way between Rockingham and Mandurah. They have very modern facilities. Sorry - don't know about the their ability to do growth plate surgery though.
Lab_Rat
Hi, Im in the SW of the state, about 2hrs south of Mandurah, so dont know about vets around there or the surgery your poor dog has to undergo. But my first thought was Murdoch Veterinary Hospital. They have lots of specialists there, so I think thats where Id start. Good luck with you baby! Dogsfevr
Murdoch would be my last port of call. We havent used Lark Hill but are well aware of one of the new vets there & he is very good & experienced in larger breeds(growth plates etc). Applecross vet is who we use & for surgery we use Ian Mcdowell There is Cottesloe, rivergum both who have ortho specialists if thats what you want I would go with Applecroos or Lark Hill for opinions
