JulesP
I am getting a new pup in about a week and all the local obedience clubs are closing for Xmas. I'm a tad stressed as I have always done the pre-puppy schools and found them really valuable for socialisation. Don't really need something for training but more for experiences and socialisation for pup. Anyone have any ideas? I'm in the Yarra Valley, Vic. Cosmolo
Don't know of anything in the Yarra Valley i'm afraid What about organising a DOL get together or how far are you willing to travel?
Staff'n'Toller
I'm running Puppy School over the summer, Eastern/Inner East. The pet dog training club I take classes at also resumes 6th Jan. PM me if you are interested. Cheers, Mel. Tonymc
Jules, along the lines of what Cosmolo said, why not put an add in your local paper seeking like minded People with the same objective that you have for your pup. Tony
Guest Tess32
I'm having the same problem as I get my pup 30 Dec and no one is open then!
JulesP
Thanks everyone. Croydon pre-puppy is starting back up mid-Jan and they are going to be a bit lenient with the ages (usually under 12 weeks) so looks like I'll be right! I can do a couple this year and then pick up next year.
PossumCorner
I'm having the same problem as I get my pup 30 Dec and no one is open then! There's an answer for you above Nat, from JulesP. Join us at Croydon, do puppy training/socialisation in January, then I can take some shots of pups during lessons. Croydon's not far: like, we go to Seaford from here for evening beach-runs for the dogs.
Guest Tess32
Never been there. Whereis.com.au says it's 42 minutes away, that right? hehe. What is Croydon like? Still sounds too far for puppy school but I'm still looking for a club in general for when he's old enough. btw PC, you just want collie cuddles, eheh. JulesP
PC were you taking pics last Sunday?? I wondered if it was you. Croydon is a good club Tess32. I've trained 3 dogs there now. Training is postive based. They have obedience, agility & flyball.

PossumCorner
PC were you taking pics last Sunday?? I wondered if it was you. ... I think everyone there had a camera, yes I was one of them. Got some lovely shots of Santa but can't put them here as I didn't think to get permission from parents (let alone Santa). Same with the fancy dress entries. Do you know the days/times puppy classes will be held before February, I'll still try to get along for puppy shots. And yes Nat, you saw right through me. JulesP
Were you taking pics of the fancy dress? And the instructors? I think pre-puppy starts back up the second wednesday in Jan. Could be the third. I'll let you know.

kim21
Hey I am exactly the same except I got my pup in sept which gave me two months at least. Croydon obedience club does prepuppy school over xmas i am pretty sure and it is 4weeks which have been excellent for my pup and all the pups in the class. I defenitaly recommend it even though normal sunday classes dont start back till next feb. it has a website if you want to look up details
